The Bangladesh Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine (BJCVM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scientific quality, integrity, and transparency through a rigorous and impartial peer-review process. All submitted manuscripts undergo editorial assessment and peer review before a final publication decision is made.
BJCVM follows a Single-Blind Peer Review process. In this model, reviewers are aware of the identities of the authors, while the identities of reviewers remain confidential and are not disclosed to authors.
This review system helps ensure objective evaluation while maintaining reviewer independence and confidentiality.
Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editorial office to assess:
• Relevance to the journal's scope
• Originality and scientific merit
• Compliance with submission guidelines
• Ethical standards and research integrity
• Completeness of required documentation
Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected without external review.
Suitable manuscripts are assigned to qualified experts in the relevant field. Reviewers are selected based on their academic expertise, research experience, and ability to provide an objective evaluation of the manuscript.
Reviewers are required to disclose any conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.
Reviewers are requested to evaluate manuscripts for:
• Originality and significance
• Scientific validity and methodological rigor
• Ethical compliance
• Clarity of presentation
• Quality of data analysis and interpretation
• Relevance to cardiovascular medicine and related disciplines
Reviewers are expected to provide constructive comments and recommendations to assist both the editors and authors in improving the quality of the manuscript.
Reviewers are generally requested to complete their evaluation within 4 to 6 weeks from the date of acceptance of the review invitation.
While the journal strives to ensure timely decisions, review timelines may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, and the number of revision rounds required.
Based on reviewer recommendations and editorial assessment, one of the following decisions may be made:
• Accept
• Minor Revision
• Major Revision
• Reject
The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board retain the final authority regarding all publication decisions.
Authors receiving revision requests should address all reviewer comments carefully and submit a detailed response explaining how each comment has been addressed.
Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.
All manuscripts submitted to BJCVM are treated as confidential documents.
Reviewers and editors must not:
• Share manuscript content with unauthorized individuals
• Use unpublished information for personal benefit
• Disclose reviewer identities without authorization
Confidentiality is maintained throughout the review and publication process.
The journal follows internationally recognized publication ethics standards and the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Any concerns regarding plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, authorship disputes, or other forms of research misconduct will be investigated according to established ethical guidelines.
Authors who wish to appeal an editorial decision or submit a complaint regarding the peer-review process may contact the editorial office.
