The Bangladesh Journal of Cardiovascular Intervention (BJCI) is committed to protecting the rights, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality of research participants. All research involving human participants must be conducted in accordance with internationally accepted ethical standards, including the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the Declaration of Helsinki.
Authors must obtain written informed consent from all participants before their inclusion in a research study. Participants should be adequately informed about the purpose of the study, the procedures involved, potential risks and benefits, and their right to withdraw from the study at any time without penalty.
The manuscript must include a statement confirming that informed consent was obtained from all participants prior to enrollment.
Written informed consent for publication is required whenever a manuscript includes identifiable information, including but not limited to:
Authors must confirm in the manuscript that consent for publication has been obtained. Copies of signed consent forms should not be submitted unless specifically requested by the Editorial Office.
The data and information of individuals, including information obtained through the doctor–patient relationship, must be handled with the highest levels of confidence and discretion.
Authors must protect the privacy and confidentiality of participants throughout the research and publication process. Personal identifiers, including names, initials, hospital identification numbers, dates of birth, addresses, or other identifying information, must not be disclosed unless publication is scientifically justified and explicit written consent has been obtained.
Where possible, identifying information should be removed or anonymized to protect participant privacy.
Editors and reviewers will assess manuscripts to ensure that appropriate informed consent has been obtained and that participant confidentiality has been adequately protected.
The Editorial Office reserves the right to request documentation of informed consent or ethical approval during the editorial process. Failure to provide satisfactory evidence may result in rejection of the manuscript or withdrawal of a published article if ethical concerns are identified after publication.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that all research involving human participants complies with applicable institutional, national, and international ethical requirements. Failure to adhere to informed consent and confidentiality standards may constitute publication misconduct and will be handled in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and COPE guidance.
The Bangladesh Journal of Cardiovascular Intervention (BJCI) is dedicated to safeguarding the rights, privacy, and welfare of research participants. The journal expects all authors to obtain valid informed consent and to handle personal and medical information with the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity, and professional responsibility, thereby ensuring ethical and responsible publication practices in accordance with COPE and ICMJE recommendations.
